Machine safety for Norwegian dry sorting

Renholmen AB has long worked with security and it is a natural part of the company's deliveries. Norwegian Bergene Holm Kirkenaer oversees safety and invests in new machine safety.

15 years ago, the requirements for machine safety at sawmills were tightened and the Swedish Work Environment Authority ran pilot projects, and one was at Martinsons in Bygdsiljum, when their new green sorting was built. In the delivery of the green sorting, Renholmen gained early knowledge of how machine safety should be designed for the best safety, so it is not an obstacle in production but a naturally integrated part of the machines.

- We are very knowledgeable in this area. Our safety thinking is well established and standardized and a natural part of our deliveries, says Bernt-Ove Andersson, Marketing Manager at Renholmen AB.

The very heart of machine safety is the software with the control of the machines where machine safety is integrated. The delivery also includes hardware such as grids, gates and light bars.

Bergene Holm Kirkenaer invests in safety equipment for the entire lower floor of the dry sorting with packaging and wrapping. The delivery includes both hardware and software.

Renholmen has a long-standing relationship with Bergene Holm Kirkenaer, which goes back to the beginning of the 1980s when the raw sorting was delivered.
